What risks should I take into account?

In the event of death or disability, your mortgage may become unaffordable. In a worst-case scenario, you could even end up losing your home.

The risk is especially high if

the property was partly financed with an advance withdrawal from your retirement fund.
the loan-to-value ratio of the property exceeds the total of your first mortgage (67% of the property value).
there's only one main breadwinner.

How can I best protect my family?

With Zurich Immo-Protect, you can insure against the financial risks of death or incapacity to work. You decide what risk you want to insure against (death/incapacity to work/both) and choose the amount of the lump-sum payment.

Life insurance: in the event of death, the insured capital is paid out immediately.
Insurance against incapacity to work: in the event of incapacity to work, Zurich covers the premium payment for the insurance after a waiting period of 12 months. The insured capital is paid out after 12 months.

Once paid out, the insurance capital can be used, for example, to reduce the mortgage, thus lowering the interest costs.

Exclusive offer for seniors who hold a �۶��Ƶ building loan or mortgage
age 18–65 (for the capital in case of death) or up to age 55 (for the capital in case of incapacity to work).

Regardless of the coverage chosen, life insurance does not guarantee that your mortgage will remain affordable, should the event insured against occur. However, the insurance product can make it more affordable.

For the coverage amounts, the mortgage amount is rounded up to the nearest CHF 50,000. Zurich Immo-Protect is an independent product entirely separate from your �۶��Ƶ mortgage or building loan.
